In addition to being the hub for Duke’s major merit scholarship programs, OUSF is the resource center for anyone eligible to apply for post-graduate awards: the Rhodes, Marshall, Churchill, Gates-Cambridge, Soros, Fulbright, and Luce among them.

OUSF also serves undergraduates who are eligible to apply for awards granted in advance of graduation: the Truman and Beinecke for example, which are designed to help support post-graduate education, or the Boren, Udall and Goldwater which provide some undergraduate tuition assistance.

By “resource center,” we mean that OUSF provides the information, advice, scheduling, assessment, and, when needed, interviews for students who apply for certain post-graduate scholarship and fellowships awards.

OUSF as “home” for post-graduate opportunities is a “duplex”: it shares the data-base provided in these pages with the Career Center, which is just down the hall in Smith Warehouse.

The database lists primarily post-graduate opportunities, which students apply for in their senior year: these opportunities may be academic or pre-professional, NGO or government-sponsored; they may require artistic apprenticeship or environmental activism (or both); they may take you abroad or provide seed-money for a local project; offer short-term employment or unpaid internships.

The database indicates which of these opportunities, whenever they may be awarded, will take you to OUSF for guidance: this guidance includes the attention and advice of the fantastic members of the faculty and administration who serve on OUSF’s Post-Graduate Awards Committees.

When you browse the database, you will see that the other part of the post-graduate duplex, the Career Center, provides you with chances-of-a-lifetime that even Rhodes-proud OUSF can envy: funding for a year doing something “noble,” anyone?
