Description

The Rhodes Scholarship funds two years of study in any field at Oxford. Applications are considered by a decentralized committee located in each participating Rhodes country/constituency. Prospective applicants are encouraged to be in touch with NCS Advisors to learn about the application process and timeline associated with their home country. Applicants must apply separately for admission to their graduate program. Applicants in some constituencies must be nominated by Duke to compete for the award.

Selection criteria include:

  • Academic excellence
  • Energy to use your talents to the fullest (as demonstrated by mastery in areas such as sports, music, debate, dance, theatre, and artistic pursuits)
  • Truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness, and fellowship
  • Moral force of character and instincts to lead, and a genuine concern for and interest in others
