Bio: At Duke, Akhilesh is Co-President of Helping Hands for Alzheimer’s and other Neurological Disorders (HAND) and a Behavioral Research Assistant at the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development. Akhilesh conducted research on a novel optical neuroimaging technique with the Huettel and Horstmeyer labs and is a Teach for America Ignite Fellow in St. Louis. Akhilesh plans to become a neurologist specializing in patients who struggle to advocate for themselves, such as children with autism or older adults with dementia.
