How has your Duke experience been thus far?
I am a sophomore studying Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science on the pre-med track. In line with my academic interests, I serve as the leader of the technology team of the Duke Justice Project, working on projects at the intersection of programming and justice initiatives. Additionally, I participate in Duke MEDesign, exploring solutions in the realm of medical device design, in addition to doing research on campus.
Outside of the classroom, I engage in various extracurricular activities. I am an intern at the Student Wellness Center, and I assist with providing various wellness-focused programs to students on campus. This may look like leading drum circles, tabling on campus, or managing Wellness Center spaces. In a similar vein, I also am serving as one of the Project Directors for the Project Wellness freshman orientation.
Beyond that, I am currently the Director of Religious Affairs within the cabinet of Duke Student Government, and I'm working towards developing programming centered around interfaith dialogue and celebration. Additionally, within the Duke Chapel, I am one of the Chapel Scholars, which focus on engaging learning with faith perspectives. Along those lines, I participate in the Every Nation Campus student ministry and help lead one of our Bible studies. Thus, I appreciate the opportunity to incorporate my faith with my life on campus.
