Why Duke?

At Duke, I am excited to meet new people but also dive further into learning. I am excited to be able to take a wide variety of classes that will not only prepare me for my future but also cultivate my interests and passions. Moreover, I am excited to build relationships with my professors. Outside of the classroom, I’m excited about so many experiences. I cannot wait to be a part of the Cameron Crazies at Cameron Indoors and cheer for the Blue Devils, not only in basketball but in other sports as well. As aforementioned, I am excited to meet new people and engage in conversations with my peers. I also cannot wait to participate in clubs and organizations outside of the classroom that will supplement my learning and overall experience. I do not yet know which clubs, but I hope to at least participate in faith-based organizations. Lastly, I’m excited to explore Durham and seek to positively impact the community. For example, one of my favorite parts about being a B.N. Scholar is the upcoming Carolina Summer of Service. Duke is a special place because learning is found not only inside the classroom, but also outside, whether it be serving the community, talking to peers, or celebrating in the stands. I’m ready and thankful to be part of that and the OUSF community.
