Why Duke?
I was oblivious to the benefits of being a Merit Scholar until I became one. The Karsh International Scholarship program is a remarkable program and being a part of this family is one of the best decisions I've made in my life. The Karsh Scholarship has provided me with so many opportunities and made available resources I would never have had access to as a regular student. I have access to funds to explore the nuances of my chosen field or venture into new disciplines. It's also designed to not only help students achieve academic success but also relish their time as scholars. The Karsh Scholarship plans activities to teach, entertain, and provide platforms for scholars to connect with each other.
With all these merits, I still think the strongest benefits of being a Karsh Scholar is the tight community it provides. Without having to put in any form of effort, you have a network of very talented and skilled individuals with similar goals and interests who actually care about you and are ready to help, support and provide guidance. You don't need to reach too far to get answers to your questions since members are focused on building each other. I feel so privileged being a part of this program.
