What are your passions and interests outside the classroom?
I played golf for three years in high school, and I hope to continue playing at Duke, hopefully on the club golf team. I enjoy reading a lot, especially mysteries, thrillers, and books about current events. I also enjoy keeping up with current events, and read a lot of news articles every day.
Why Duke?
As a child, I visited Duke often with my family because my mother is a Duke alumna, so it has always been a part of my life. When I got an email about a North Carolina/South Carolina admissions open house that coincided with a Model UN conference near Durham, I decided to attend. When I walked around campus as a prospective student, I connected with the university. Duke offers the best of everything: a combination of top academics and athletics, an engaged and collaborative community, an opportunity to explore all of my academic and extracurricular interests and one of the best political science programs in the country. I have already taken advantage of Duke's unique programming like FOCUS, DukeEngage, the Duke Program in American Grand Strategy and FLUNCHes with faculty members. I have met so many great friends and am excited to get involved with clubs and activities.
