When I first visited Duke in my sophomore year of high school, I felt like it was the first school that I could envision myself at for my undergraduate years. It’s far from home, has a fantastic combination of high-level athletics and challenging academic rigor, and the campus is absolutely beautiful. The research opportunities and study abroad programs available at Duke were also factors in my interest. When I became a Reginaldo Howard Scholar, it was truly the icing on the cake. This privilege means I can explore my interests without the financial burden many college students are afflicted with in this country. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and plan to make the most of my experience as a Blue Devil.
