Hometown: Canton, Ohio
Majors: Economics; Public Policy
While at Duke, Jacob Hervey has had the chance to fuse his passions in empirical research and policy analysis. He is currently a research fellow in the Duke Economics Analysis Lab where he explores the racial bias in media, and he also works as a teaching assistant for Duke’s calculus-driven microeconomics courses. Jacob serves as a captain of the school’s mock trial team, which has influenced his interest in a legal career. After graduation, Jacob hopes to attend law school and become a civil rights attorney focused on voting rights protections. Outside of the classroom, Jacob is engrossed in the competitive world of pickleball and the meticulous work of map-making.
