Why Duke?

I visited campus and was given a tour by an upperclassman B.N. Duke scholar, it felt like a place I could grow to love. I also saw myself growing both academically and personally by developing a community of talented, driven people that inspire me to challenge myself.

Officially an upperclassman, I am looking forward to continuing my passion for community-grounded scholarship that is centered on health equity. My interests lie in using an asset-based approach to address health inequities in marginalized communities, especially Native communities. Outside of my scholarship, I look forward to continuing to explore Durham with friends and building relationships with the communities that surround Duke’s campus.
