Hobbies and Interests: Outside of academic work, Laura is the co-president of Duke Gymnastics, an active member of Cru, and enjoys rock climbing, ballroom and swing dancing, cooking/baking, and doing puzzles.
Bio: Laura is fascinated by the prospect of understanding the biochemical mechanisms underlying the progression of dementia, as well as cancer. Currently works in the Khasraw lab, she’s helping to identify novel targets in immune cells for genetic modification, which could lead to improved therapies for cancers, like glioblastoma, that are particularly difficult to treat.
