Why Duke?
I chose Duke because there was no school that I thought would provide the kind of thoughtful cross-disciplinary involvement that I sought out. During my time here, I've been involved with discovering the history of the university through the Building Duke Bass Connections team and by participating on the Centennial Strategic Task Force of the Board of Trustees. I've written and edited for The Chronicle's Opinion section, acted as the Shabbat Chair of the Jewish Student Union, been a resident assistant in Craven and Few dorms, written for FORM Magazine, and started a project for informing Duke students about the history and uniqueness of the university through Know Your Duke. The scholarship has not only opened the door for these things to happen by allowing me to attend Duke, but also supported me financially and in other ways throughout. For fun, I compose film music, go on runs, make TikToks and video essays, and love learning classical guitar.
