Over the past ten years, Duke has already become home to me. I have achieved some of my biggest accomplishments at Duke, from attending TIP ceremonies to participating in Science Olympiad competitions. The vibrant campus instantly drew me as a place where I could not only thrive in a close-knit community, but also pursue my academic and professional aspirations in technology and entrepreneurship. I am excited to continue tackling real-world issues and gain industry exposure as a Blue Devil through experiential programs like the Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative.
Being a B.N. Duke Scholar will also allow me to take my service and leadership to the next level. For me, this scholarship provides a platform to learn about current societal issues, collaborate with dedicated individuals, and contribute effectively to make a difference. I'm looking forward to engaging in community service initiatives like the Carolina and International Summers of Service.
A previous B.N. Duke alum once told me not to treat others the way I want to be treated, but to treat others better than I want to be treated. I strive to embody this mindset throughout my next four years as a Blue Devil and Duke scholar!
