Class of 2028
(She/Her/Hers)
B.N. Duke Scholar

Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina

Major: Undeclared, probably Global Health and Psychology with a minor in Spanish

Hobbies and Interests: I'm always up for new experiences, whether it's discovering a new restaurant, exploring Durham or traveling to a new country and learning about its unique cultural traditions. I'm also passionate about wellness in all its forms, from hiking and creating art to reading and enjoying music.

Why Duke?

I love Duke's emphasis on multidisciplinary learning and the many opportunities it offers for community engagement. I'm already enjoying combining my interest in medicine and social issues in classes like "The Biological Impact of Racism" and by participating in my focus group, which includes a global-health themed dinner seminar. And I hope to make a meaningful impact by applying some of what I'm learning in the classroom by volunteering for the Help Desk, a Duke partnership with a local health center in which students help connect patients with community resources. But of course I'm also looking forward to just enjoying the incredible campus life at Duke, playing Spikeball on the quad with my friends, dropping in on a DuWell paint night, taking my professors to FLUNCH and eating poke bowls in what has to be the best university dining hall in the country.
